Holiday Window Shopping With Marwen at Mark Shale
The second installment of “Mark Shale Project Space” arrives as holiday window displays on Thursday, November 17 at the 900 N. Michigan Ave. location. Courtesy of Marwen, a non-profit organization founded in 1987 to educate Chicago’s under-served through visual arts, the window displays will hang at all three Chicago locations from November 17, 2011-January 12, 2012 and feature original oil paintings and screen prints from the Marwen art students. The works on display will be translated into holiday cards sold through the Marwen Holiday Card Series (see them here).

Created by Marwen to extend the reach of student work while raising funds to support their programs, the holiday card series is an ongoing initiative which showcases the unique perspective of elementary and high school students working to develop a creative voice through artistic endeavors. These cards will be available for purchase at all Mark Shale locations, from mid-November to mid-January.

Please join us for a holiday reception on Thursday, November 17 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at our Michigan Ave. location. Meet the students, their friends, and families, and enjoy drinks & appetizers while previewing some very special holiday windows!
